| مصطلحات عامية امريكية
في هذا الموضوع اريد ان اقدم لكم معظم المصطلحات الامريكية العامية ارجوا ان تنال اعجابكم وتستفيدو منها :

-If it ain't broke, don’t fix it:
Said when you see something in a satisfactory state, and there is no reason to change it.
- Be as good (as) new:
To be in a very good condition:
"The coat of paint and it will be (as) good as new".
- (All) in one piece:not damaged:
"The radio has been stolen, but otherwise we got the car back (all) in one piece".
-In good/bad repair:in a good/bad condition:
"The house in a very good repair".
-Be none the worse: not be harmed or damaged by something:
"They were trapped in a cave for a couple of days but they were none the worse for their experience".
"He's lost some weight but he's none the worse"(He's better for that).
-Get in on the act: to take advantage of something that someone else started.
"We did all the hard work of setting up the company, and now everyone wants to get in on the act."
-Get your act together: to start to organize yourself so that you do things in an effective way.
"She's so disorganized – I wish she'd get her act together."
-Not get/go anywhere: if you're not getting/going anywhere, you're not improving or advancing a particular situation.
"I've been sorting out my study all day, but it's such a mess I don’t feel I'm getting anywhere".
- Get off your arse (get your arse in gear) OFFENSIVE
To force yourself to start doing something or to make yourself hurry.
"Tell him to get off his arse and do some work for once."
"If she doesn't get her arse in gear, she's going to be late."
- Get off my back! Used to tell someone to stop criticizing you:
"Why don’t you get off my back? I'm doing my best."
- The gift of the gab (us the gift of gab):the ability to speak easily and confidently in a way that makes people want to listen to you and believe you:
"She's got the gift of gab – she should work in sales and marketing".
- Get/put your back up: to annoy someone:
"Just ignore him – he's trying to put your back up."
- Get your fingers burnt: to suffer unpleasant results of an action, especially loss of money, so you don’t want to do the same thing again:
"She'd invested extensively in stocks and got her fingers burnt when the market collapsed."
- If you catch/get my drift: used to say that you have left out information or your opinion from what you have just said, but that you expect the person listening to understand it anyway:
"She's married; she doesn’t act as if she is, if you get my drift."
- Get an eyeful: to look at something or someone.
"Hey, get an eyeful."
